Glenda, who runs the Welland House B&B is a real card. We really cracked up when we saw our receipt was written out for Thelma and Louise!

On the road again, and at Much Wenlock we joined one of the Brother Cadfael trails. Brother Cadfael is a character from a series of books that we like. This ancient market town features in some of the books.
It was wonderful to stroll through the town which has medieval, Georgian and Victorian buildings.

Around the corner from the town centre are the dramatic ruins of Wenlock Priory, laid upon the site of St. Milburga's Abbey at around 680 AD.

On through the patchy rain to Ambleside where we had a B&B booked. We were welcomed by Diane, one of our hosts. She took us up to our room, at the top of the house of course. To our surprise it was a double.

So we went from Thelma and Louise to "the only gays in the village" in the space of one day!
After a delicious afternoon tea we set off for a walk.
