Day 11 - Barrington Court

Rain, strong winds, etc, etc. We’d arranged to go over to Tracey’s for morning tea. She lives at Wiveliscombe so Denise got to see even more of the countryside.

After lunch because the forecast was fine in the south we decided to go to Lyme Regis. Well, we didn’t even get 16km along the road because it was nose-to-tail out of Taunton. So we took a side road that had a sign to Barrington Court, a National Trust property. It was the first one bought by the National Trust in 1907. It is two buildings; the Tudor Court House and the William and Mary stable block which was converted into a house and called Stoke House. They stand next to each other in beautiful gardens.

Of course we spent ages here including afternoon tea.
